Braille Translation

One of the most wonderful thank-you gifts I’ve ever received: “Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site,” translated into Braille. 🥰 Thank you to the Wenham Museum for allowing me to speak to your audience tonight... And for this unforgettable gift.

Cape Ann Museum

How surreal and lovely to walk into the exhibit space and stand by this actual “Little House” today... 🥰 Thank you to the Cape Ann Museum for the opportunity and honor to join you in celebrating Virginia Lee Burton and “The Little House” — and this wonderful exhibit. ❤️❤️❤️

Hello Lighthouse

I’m ashamed to admit that I JUST read this beautiful book. It’s a surprisingly, “lump-in-the-throat” emotional read about change and family and the passage of time, but it’s also STUNNINGLY beautiful — the tall, narrow format that echos the lighthouse and innovative spreads (I love the circle spread, the bird’s-eye view illustrations and the fold-out page) will capture your heart and young readers’ imaginations. ❤️ I loved it so much, I had to own it.

Christmas past...and present

Nana’s silver, all holiday’d out. The antique clock, once theirs, now ours. The last sweet Christmas card from my stepmom, before she left us, far too soon. I’m feeling sentimental about Christmas past, and feeling blessed to be in this time and place with people I love, making this year’s memories.

HOW WE GOT TO THE MOON by John Rocco

A few of the OVER 100 PAGES OF SKETCHES (and counting!) from my friend John Rocco’s upcoming book “HOW WE GOT TO THE MOON.” An all-encompassing passion project in the spirit of Brian Floca’s “Locomotive” or Jason Chin’s “Grand Canyon.” This fully illustrated middle grade book is a labor of love worth waiting (and watching) for, and will be like nothing we’ve seen before. I can’t wait!
