Vintage Works!

Public service announcement for cooks: Measuring cup #1 is 27 years old, part of a wedding shower present to me. It has been used weekly (almost daily!) for all of those years. Cup #2 is from the 1970’s, a garage sale find with years of use. Cup #3 was purchased NEW, a couple of months ago. The printing is almost gone, and it’s about to go into Goodwill, because I just don’t need another gravy boat. 🙄 If you REALLY use your measuring cups and also dishwasher them, BUY VINTAGE.

Cute

This is a book that my oldest son (the art-obsessed one!) would have LOVED when he was 2-4. Thank you @dadsuggests for recommending; I loved the post so much, I HAD to see this fresh, sweet, colorful book in person! The itty bitties who use my Little Free Library will LOVE it. 📚❤️ I hope it becomes a board book at some point. 😊 PS: Love the surprise under the dust jacket!

Beautiful Garden

THE WEST GARDEN, Hatfield House, @Hatfield_house, designed in 1902. Enclosed by a pleached lime walk and an inner hedge with pairs of topiary sentinels at each entrance. It is planted with quadrant beds of scented perennials and roses centered by a circular pond. ❤️

This work of cinematic art is courtesy of the 18-yo. 🙄 I’m not thrilled that he’s throwing cheese at the dog for sport, but this does accurately depict the lightning-fast reflexes of the family fur baby. 🤦🏻‍♀️

How much do I love that my little nephew picked THIS for book character day? (And kudos to his sweet mom for patiently watching SIX tutorials so she could figure out how to tie that tie!)

So, the 18-yo, the kid that used to live on cheeseburgers, pasta and grilled cheese, came home with groceries and requested a field greens salad with fruit and crispy goat cheese. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Who are you... and what have you done with my son?! 😳
