🚧 Construction Site on Halloween Night

🎃 I love open ended play where Brady can take in the setup I’ve created & go wherever his imagination takes him. Our @magnatiles are one of our favorite open ended toys because they have so many possibilities.

👻 I used some of our favorite small shop open ended resources with our @magnatiles builder set & some dollar tree accessories. Resources used are: @button_and_bug magnetic chalkboard insert & clear acrylic insert, resin pumpkins from @chloe_duffy3 , construction blocks from @applewoodtoys & our Halloween tinkers, forest playscape & resin waterfall from @the.stemsory.experience (MOMMAS15 to save) to recreate one of his favorite Halloween books. It turned into him “saving Halloween” by using the cranes & bricks to create a “ghost trapper.” Then the pumpkins came to life & he had to trap them too!

Right now, it’s Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site (or its sequels). Every day. Multiple times a day. And if I dare read my 22 month old anything else, he makes truck noises until I pick up the correct book again.⁣

Just like the previous books, this one has beautiful, colorful pictures and fantastic rhymes to tell the story. And if you’ve read a story out loud ten times in a row, you know how important it is to have one you enjoy reading. This wagon-wheel shaped community is Rotonda West, FL, where my dad lives. It took a direct hit from Ian.

Dad and Kathy evacuated, but many of his dear neighbors did not.

Still waiting to hear about friends there, and about the condition of his home.

Construction Site Gets a Fright! has all the fun and spookiness you could want 🎃 The story has the trucks you love, and a very relatable message that sometimes we all may get a little scared (even if there really is nothing to be scared of). This book has the added bonus of flaps, so the girls loved seeing what was behind each one!

@sherririnker is always the best at rhymes and make this a really fun read aloud. @agfordart illustrations are just the perfect amount of spooky and cute.
